Electoral bonds case: CJI Chandrachud makes strong observations, questions 'selective anonymity'

The Supreme Court initiated the hearing on challenges to the electoral bonds scheme, which serves as a source of funding for political parties. The court observed that while electoral bonds offer a degree of anonymity and confidentiality, purchase records are maintained by the State Bank of India and can be accessed by investigative agencies. This information came to light during the court's proceedings on Wednesday.

Odd thoughts

As a layperson.. my worries are.. legalizing corruption..in expectations or by force or as favours.. money or bonds or Hundi collections are made.. or accounted...

No party shall get any funding.. run parties frugal and prudent.. take people and nation first and work..

Even foreign corporates and even terror groups can donate and influence outcomes..as extreme cases...

Practice in our profession simply refer to good practice and bad practice...

But, If in India corruption and poverty are to be eradicated.. we have to work...

One of my postulate was while working in government services.. if we could stop corruption at induction levels of government employees and if they continue as not corrupt and if they are protected from seniors forcing them into corrupt practices.. we will have better good systems..

But the problem is there both in private and in public and in government services.. this party funding in total should go away.. in whatever form it may be...

The rule is simple if money is accepted, the party has some obligations to return it.. there the problem arises...

If we are not corrupt.. then no problem..

Then CVC Vital used to say complex rules and strict rules make private to bribe, so also officials to demand bribes..

I recommended that we should have social security system protecting government employees to stay corruption free... That is also required for brave politicians and parties.. to work with little money..

To purchase voters and to purchase elected members more money is needed.. that should be vitiated..

Is it possible that after taking donations through electoral bonds, after winning the election, I sell some government assets at throwaway prices to the business house which has donated to my political party through electoral bonds? And if this is possible then why should the public not have the right to know how much money which political party has taken from which business house through electoral bonds? So that it can be known that the government is not selling government assets only to those business houses which have donated to it through electronic bonds?
