I'm late to the party on this budget knife. I literally just ordered the exact one in this video directly from Cold Steel. My last couple of knives were pricy Spyderco knives, my wallet needs a break 😆. This knife is the perfect beater work knife and self defense purposes, too.

Great knife bro, gave one to my baby sister who works search and rescue, hers I set up left handed, added a Snaggletooth and a titanium deep carry pocket clip to it. Liked it so much I made myself one as well. The knife is without peer at that price point, and like many Cold Steel's, you just break the sharp edges with another blade, some sandpaper, and the feel is awesome. Blessings.

Beast blade!! I like that CS put a little belly on that badboy. I had to put a belly on Recon1 tanto when I cut in a sharpening choil&the belly made a world of difference in the cutting

Thanks for sharing. I have one along with a 4MAX Scout. The SR1 Lite was supposed to my beater but guess which one get cared the most? Mine now has a SnaggleToothMF “wave” stud and setup for left pocket carry. That cut test was a real eye opener…. I didn’t think with the blade geometry it would slice that well. Thanks again!

Triad lock (Not axis lock). Also there is nothing wrong with the fit and finish on the top of the knife. Mine also has that grinded away at the top locking mechanism metal.

Love my SR1 Lite - my only caution is the pocket clip screws are extremely delicate, for such a beast - careful swapping it around 😉

I like them . very well made. I think the clip point one has more utility and would be easier to sharpen .

Just a heads up those corners being ground down (on the lock bar) are actually unique to each knife and are tweaked so that the bar when it moves is smooth and doesn’t rub. The tolerances on these knives is not very good quality, but they are “solid” and well built. They also have that gap up by where the blade rotates top of the handle. There is actually two washers on the left (looking down on lock bar) and you can see that large gap on the left. The two corner grinds and the double washer basically are purposeful to line the knife up so the action is good and it locks into place lined up. It’s a bit janky but I guess it’s a $35 knife.

Edit. I wonder if the more expensive sr1 has these build hacks also or if it’s made more like the ad10 with everything all smooth. Even the AD10 lite has amazing awesome build quality. Not sure why these seemingly have so many gaps and hacks.

Just checked and the expensive sr1 has the corner grind on the back and looks like 1 washer each side so it’s still needing to be ground down but slightly better tolerances

Love mine hasn't failed me yet if I'm not carrying my fixed blade I'm carrying the sr1 light great knife but my fixed blade I carry is the srk with a scout Carry leather sheath my go twos

If ur going to carry with jeans take the clip off and smooth the handle were the clip goes out with some sandpaper and u got a great knife if u don't it 100% will eat ur jean pocket up
