On sleep, and as a 70 yo, I would add that not eating after 6 pm and limiting alcohol (especially no alcohol), makes a big difference. I already walk in the morning and through the day and get morning sunlight. I also wear an Oura ring to track my Rem and Deep sleep and total sleep and it has helped me understand what works.

The combination of ancient practices like meditation and modern science shows promise for enhancing longevity. It’s fascinating how the mindfulness practices of the past are now being validated by research in neuroscience

Dr Esselstyn based his entire career on that one photo. I could never be part of the Vegan Cult. I'll go with the Mediterranean Diet all the time. I'm 76 years old and have never taken a prescription and have had any health issues. Same body weight as my 1969 Army physical.

Daily exercise is key to as healthy life. Ride a bicycle to school, work or for fun.
Riding a bicycle is a great way to exercise. Ebikes are bringing many older adults back to cycling.
Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan. Be healthier and happier. Ride a bicycle regularly.
Make a bicycle your transportation option for short distance travel.

Most elderly people have problems getting up off the floor. As a child you spend a lot of time on the floor, adults do not.
Doing yoga / stretching exercises on the floor can improve balance, mobility, flexibility and the ability to get up and down..
Just getting up and down to the floor in a controlled manner is difficult for many older adults.
Play with your children on the floor. Bend over, get down and pull weeds in your garden. Play with a pet on the floor.
The more effort you make to work on balance and flexibility will pay dividends as you age.

It is just crazy that Doctors do not get nutrition training in Medical schools.
Every doctor visit should include some nutrition discussion. The majority of the population is over weight or obese leading to high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. Schools and hospital cafeterias should be leading the way to good health by setting the example of what is a healthy meal and teaching people what to eat and why.. Every person in the hospital for heart disease should have a nutrition class before being checked out from the hospital with follow up education and training in nutrition. Medicare and Medicaid should require patient nutrition education as part of their standard of care. Nutrition information should be run on the hospital TV channel. Prevention needs to be emphasized to every patient. After the fact pills and surgery don't deal with the ROOT CAUSE.

Things that should not be negotiable.
Sleep.
Movement.
Avoiding stress should also be paramount.

As for what to eat, eat what best suits you.

The Einstein quote has bothered me for a long time. It is true for a failing situation, however if what you are doing is successful, and perhaps has been before, repeating it seems absolutely sane to me. 😅

You are what you eat. Your diet impacts your health.
Lower stress, reduce obesity, get enough sleep and more exercise are key to a healthy life.
Obesity in children and adults is rising across the world.
Fast food and sugary drinks including fruit juices are contributing to the problem of poor health and obesity.
Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly.
Reduce or ELIMINATE cows milk, eggs, cheese and meat. Eat more salad greens, beans, fruit and vegetables. Eliminate fast food, snacks like cookies, cakes, chips, and sugary drinks and juices.
Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly.
Regular exercise will help you sleep better. Yoga is a great stress reducer.
Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Get off the phone, ipad or video game.
A variety of stretching and other exercises help with increased mobility.
Ride to work, ride to school, ride for fun.
Every city should be a bicycle city.
Speak up for bicycles in your community

I think we need supplements because the food does not contain the nutrients because of the farming today. If you have a backyard and can grow everything yourself and it is all pesticide free and is nutrient dense then you don’t need supplements. lol

Think this post is maybe what you refer. Natural Hygiene was taught by Natives to USA medical people & those teachings remained the law of the land up until the late 1800's when big pharma began to take over making Natural Hygiene unjustly obsolete until early 1900's when Herbert M. Shelton re-founded the orthopaedic practice at his health sanatoriums & by the 1950's he ran for potus, but big oil land grabs & big pharma swindles had a monopoly by then, also it was further corrupted by the liquor industry that had spiraled out of control as a drug of choice ever since the 1930's. So it is way past time to make Natural Hygiene a part of our daily lives again, as the once sober apple cart was upset too many times over the years by oppressive governmental inebriated addicts who have been increasingly abusing a once sound medical practice here in America for far too long. Here is my take on needed improvements for those who have yet them or even considered changing these corrupt current laws yet. Back around the 70's reagan began shutting down state hospitals to save taxes for the rich resulting in an ever increasing spiral of homeless street people & overcrowded prisons. Reagan was inebriated on his bubbly. That points to another mess up that occurred back in the 30's when they made alcohol their drug of choice as legal recreation & criminalized other intoxicants. Past time for a resolution to both these gross errors. 1- make all drugs & alcohol legal medically with supervision. 2-drug & alcohol test all law enforcement, politicians, educators & gun owners at their own expense, never as illegal recreation in use currently. Until those insane obsolete laws, rules & regulations are changed with appropriate resolutions the errors of the past will continue to escalate.

I have been on a WFPB diet since the early 1990s. The health benefits are true, but there is a buried lie here.

The lie is that fruits and vegetables are 'satisfying'. They are not.

A WFPB diet will never be as satisfying as a large chunk of cheese, a prime, juicy steak or stuffing yourself with deserts. You will always feel that you are 'missing' something on a strict WFPB diet.
Eating this way requires discipline. It is not the food industry forcing you to eat unhealthy foods, rather it is your own mind. Only your hand can put stuff in your mouth.
Yes, it is, and always has been, about self-control, mindfulness, and not over consuming any food group. Your desire to live and be healthy must be greater than your food addictions.
This is the truth behind why so many people cannot or will not do this. It sounds harsh, but sometimes life is just that way.

I saw "Modern Science" in the title and I was hoping to hear something about modern science. But no, it's all ancient wisdom and no modern science. I'm disappointed.
The video is good nonetheless.
