Lived in North Dakota many years. You are correct, Hayden. Snow breaks. The wind blows twice a year for 6 months at a time and there is no stopping it.

Lived in ND all my life, farming half of that life. Shelter belts are used to prevent wind erosion as this is one of the windiest states.😀

As you can tell, we are all tired to the point that we do not know what day of the week it is lol- hence the delayed videos this year. Hayden kept mentioning that we don’t work on Sundays, but he meant Saturdays. The second 1\2 of this video was a Saturday- we cut for another farmer while our main farmer was off.

Reason- farmer is 7th Day Adventist 😊

Tree rows-shelter belts, for wind erosion and snow. If I remember correctly they started them after the Great Depression due to all the wind damage back then. Also at one time Grand Forks County was considered or held the title as having the most shelter belts in ND or possibly in the US. It has been awhile or my memory may be off…🤔🤷‍♂️😂
