in 1947, Maharaja Hari singh of Kashmir surrendered to Indian Government, but Pakistani troops occuiped a large part of western kashmir, which led to three battles between India and Pakistan. in POK area, gilgit baltistan and azad kashmir named areas are formed by pakistan, but Indians consider whole as POK. Some part of kashmir given to china by pakistan, which is known as saksgam valley.
In the battles of 1965 and 1971, various treaties signed, but both nations are not satisfied with the situation.

United Nations decision were 💯% correct bcz Hurree Singh was a single individual who made a decision to be a part of India, although population of Muslims in Kashmir were in majority and still in majority... And the main formula of division were also from British govt and Muslims and hindo that Muslims majority areas will be part of Pakistan and hindo majority areas will be part of hindostan.

Formally Hari Singh was a Military Personnel of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. Maha Raja Ranjeet Singh ruled on united Indian punjab along with some others areas after all he invaded GB & JK & Ladakh but after 49 years of his rulling period British India captured the whole Area of Sikh Raj that time Hari Singh negociated as ambassador from Ranjeet Singh and he succeeded for peaceful settlement between British and Sikh Raj. After all British India gave all J&K as gift land (Jageer) to Hari Singh then he became a Maja Raj Hari Singh Rajput. They ignored the entire muslims Kashmiris. Hari Singh was a true mercenary of British India Raj but ever before a Raja. India illegally used him to capturing the entire J&K. Which was the legal integral part of Pakistan during partition. So now this region called Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Soon it will become Pakistan.
