In this video I will explain what is a partial differential equation. PDE is a differential equation that contains partial derivatives, and the dependent variable in the equation depends on more than 1 independent variable.

Dr. Van Biezen I am so glad you are still active. I have been wanting a partial differential equation list for very long time. I follow you quite a bit. It would also be great if you could eventually get to signal processing then quantum mechanics/physics. If I had a million dollars I would give it to you. Education is very important to me. You are doing a very good thing and are a very good person. You deserve more credit. I hope you get all the awards you seek in life.

Prof. van Biezen, I must say, your lectures are one of the best things to be found on the internet. Absolutely amazing - you display an outstanding understanding of the material and a unique, unparalleled ability to teach complex content. Please keep up the good work - many future generations of students will undoubtedly benefit from that. Suggestion: what about a series on Mathematical Statistics?

I was searching for this topic and luckily I found your videos. I have a good feeling that I'll be able to understand partial deravites from you professor. God bless you for doing these kind of valuable things. ❤

Thank you for this series in PDE. Glad I can get started on this subject before the Fall term begins.

Hi Michel, I don't know where you get the energy from to keep producing videos at such a rate! I'm struggling to keep up and I already did all these subjects at university, albeit a long time ago. You are leaving an outstanding legacy to physics and engineering students all over the world - resource which is having very positive effects, judging by the comments of your loyal followers.

Thanks for fulfilling my special request Mr. van Biezen!! This is a great introduction and I can't wait to see more. Are there any Partial Differential Equation textbooks you could recommend? The one I use tends to oversimplify examples, and I'd love to get some supplementary material.

Professor van Biezen, you helped me recall everything I needed in my current studies)) im so much grateful to you)) will you ever broaden the topic of partial differential equations and make more in depth video on those like you did on ODE?

Have you considered doing a video explaining the Epsilon-Delta definition of a limit? Or linking to a video where you explain it? I am not sure I can find one but it seems like a confusing topic that I think you should be able to make easy?
