Lori Piana Fail #fashion #fashionfail

This $4000 Loro Piana jacket is a great example of poor product development.

The dark brown / black suede collar bleeds when exposed to water and dry cleaning solvent. So the collar needs to be completely removed before cleaning, then sewn back on after. This means that the client has to pay for the cleaning of their garment, and additional alteration charges.

Another problem with removing and resewing is it will cause tons of damage to the fabric at the collar and the suede. Suede is not fabric with threads and needle holes (needling) will appear after every effort.

Loro Piana is known for their experience with animal fibers and hides, so I am surprised to see such an obvious issue with this garment.

A removable collar would go a very long way here...

I work at a dry cleaners as a clerk, and you can’t even imagine the daily headache of explaining to people that their several thousand dollar luxury garment was badly manufactured. They literally don’t believe me, they think their money knows better, when the reality is that too many high-end brands know their customers don’t know what real quality is.

So, I tested your stain removal recommendations and all of them worked. Based on that, I bought a very beautiful and expensive double damask Irish linen table cloth and 12 extra large double damask Irish linen napkins. The first time I used them was at my Seder this past weekend. I cleared off the table at the end of the evening and was met with a Jackson Pollok painting: red wine, brisket gravy (red wine, tomato, plum, and fats), chocolate, ground in parsley gremolata sauce, raspberry, oil stains.... basically every type of food stain except tumeric. I treated all the stains as per your book (love it!), and washed in cool/warm water (don't want to shrink my linens). NO STAINS. Not a single stain was left anywhere! I used vinegar on the wine based stains, and Dawn with water on all of them, and I couldn't find even a shadow of a stain on any of the linens. I was prepared to use hydrogen peroxide if needed - and there was some in my laundry booster (your recipe), but it wasn't needed. THANK

I’m sure it bleeds if you sweat too much, too…

Imagine people protecting their jackets from the rain instead of the jacket protecting them 😮. The future is crazy!

Suede is already a pain, why put it on a place constantly exposed to sweat?!?!?

I had always thought that I was doing things incorrectly when actually the garment was the issue. Nowww I get it

I rather spend $4000 on custom clothing and having a personal tailor!

Such a shame. Loro Piana used to be a really great brand that made beautiful, luxurious pieces (mostly cashmere) that would stand the test of time. Now apparently everything is disposable.

Pretty sure they knew exactly what they were doing 😂

Hey! I have a recommendation for you. I liked the Miele Twindos. The blue one. Could you do a review on this and tell us a bit more about it as I love the smell of it and I think it does really well on stains.

I love this channel! Thank you!

Not only is the collar badly made, as a noob at sewing, even I can tell that the seams and stitching look mediocre. Like...I've seen things at Primark that have better stitching.

That’s a bummer to clean, looks like a pretty coat too. I’d probably write the company and complain if I was the owner.

It probably also bleeds from sweat too…

If I'm paying $4000 for anything, it better not have such obvious design flaws.

Hey, if you can afford a $4, 000 jacket just throw it out when it gets dirty and buy a new one!
