Colour charting your paints is so helpful in the long run. It does save you time and money giving you options for colours you are looking for. Anyone who hasn't done one I would highly recommend it. Great lesson Clive. 👍

Clive I made that chart and my students were liking it. Very useful. I think better than a color wheel, because you can see what your own paints can do. Some students use cheap paint which shows how buying better paints gives better results. Thanks for all your tips.

For any beginner, skies usually get lighter towards the horizon and slightly greener. Every sky is different obviously but i usually use ultramarine blue at the top and add a greener blue towards the horizon like a phthalo blue.

Thanks for sharing. I know I am speaking for most beginners, color mixing is the problem we most face, and it is good that you broke it down to the painted subject- in which one would actually USE those colors. Very useful instruction and tool. I'm hoping you will do greens also, as it relates to trees and meadows. Also yellows. ☺

Also, can you mix blues used in a painted seascape(not together, but in the seascape)? For example a phyllo blue and an Ultramarine; Ultramarine in the sky and Phalo in the water?
