Whitney Wolfe Herd | Co-Founder | Bumble

Bumble- the app was co-founded by Whitney Wolfe Herd in 2014 to cater to the needs of women. Whitney was born in the Salt Lake City of Utah and born to a homemaker mother and property developer father. She started her first business at the age of 19. She joined a fashion designer and created tote bags to fund relief efforts. At the age of 22, she joined a Los Angeles-based start-up, and later she worked for Tinder and was involved in the making of the app. The name ‘Tinder’ was Whitney’s suggestion. She worked hard to promote the app among college students. She then worked as the Vice President in the marketing department of Tinder for the next couple of years. She left the company because of the toxic environment and filed a lawsuit against the company for sexual harassment. As per reports, she received more than $ 1 million, plus stock as a part of the settlement.
