Not sure how far back you plan on going with these videos, but I just watched the 1985 VMAs and it was amusing to see that even if pop culture and the focus of the awards have changed (there was more of a focus on the music video as an artform rather than on the artists themselves) it was still a chaotic mess even in the early days. I'd be interested in hearing your take on that one.
