In Los Angeles thousands of families are starting to return home after those devastating wildfires. Evacuations now lifted in some areas, while in others firefighters are still battling the flames. NBC News’ Morgan Chesky reports from hard hit Pacific Palisades.

It's time to re-build with stucco walls and fire-resistent roofs. The lafd needs to invest in planes like the Canadians sent down to help. So what if concrete houses aren't as appealing as what was lost. Now's the time to change what materials can be used to build structures in fire-prone areas. To me, it seemed the only fire-fighting techniques working was thru planes and helicopters. But where do you find mega-skilled pilots like that? If it wasn't for them this disaster would have been exponentially worse.
