Rain washed away a thousand years of history in Peru. Witnesses could only watch helplessly as a pre-Incan fortress wall collapsed before their eyes. Researchers believe it was built between the 10th and 12th centuries.

That's one heck of a fortress wall, lasting thousands of years up until now.

One event in a thousand years and the person with the camera decides to turn his attention away from the wall and cover moving dirt and sky. Great.

It’s 2022 and people still don’t know how to aim a camera

Aw. At least you can recover the original pieces, and rebuild a renovated version or create a installation.

While this is saddening, at least it wasn’t some idiot that jumped on the wall to bring it down.

Damn that's so sad 😔😔😟 something so strong that lasted so long, gone in an instant😔 but atleast there's countless pictures and tons of ppl were able to see it before it collapsed🙏🙏 its amazing that it survived that long to begin with!!🤯🙏

Could you imagine everyone you loved, your home, culture all far gone and the last structure that proves you existed just wipes away just like that.

It wasn’t heavy rains that caused the wall to fall. It was a lack of trees and shrubs whose roots hold the ground together in heavy rains. If modern people didn’t decimate the landscape it would still be standing

People: *Sad about a, "piece of history" crumbling away"

Me: *Wondering how the tree survived that*

Not many people get the opportunity to literally witness history crumble. It is sad but breathtaking. The land will reclaim everything.

Sure it sucks to see such an old wall go, but A THOUSAND YEARS that thing stood. That's one hell of a job well done.
