Problem is it only last for 3 years when degrees take 4 or more.

Have you done a video on using the GI bill for overseas schools? It's pretty amazing!

Do you know if someone can take mini terms, like early fall and late fall, and take 6 credits each and still qualify for the full BAH since technically you’re taking 12 credits for that semester?

In in your same boar. Have a BA and MBA. Would love to transfer to child but I dont have a wife or child. It seems like if you are a veteran you should be able to transfer as long as you do the extra time because you may not have kids at 28 but will have them at 38.

Question? I made an error to change from MGIB to post 911, and I know we have been told that you can't go back once you switch to post 911. is that true?
I called them, and they told me to request it back since I have not started to use it yet.

Hello there Jake,
Great work! I’m currently Active Duty Air Force as well stationed at Langley. Ever thought about making a video about the problem with the TA program?

If you get to the point where you know you will not use after your service or transfer it maybe using while you're in the service to get your Doctorate after you've maxed out your TA for the fiscal year.

Hey Jake. Love the vids. Just want to say that having too many benefits is definitely a good thing! You can get creative with the GI. Personally I want to get an MBA at night school when I get out but there are lots of creative uses. You could use it for a programming bootcamp (I find coding to be rewarding and fun), National Outdoor Leadership School (looks super cool), you could do a VA approved On The Job GI Bill (probably not jobs you would do since you have your masters already, but a way to have a job and get the BAH), scuba school, or just about any trade you can think of (may tie into a hobby of yours). I hope this helps!

I think you have a few options. You can go and get an additional terminal degree at like an MBA or other professional degree that can increase your overall earning potential. While working full-time I got a MS in Financial Planning. I attended 2 online and 1 in person course per semester and collected my full BAH. The other option is to save it. You never know when you may be in transition or the next recession will hit your industry. It can give you great flexibility to retool while covering basic expenses. You could also pursue some sort of vocational or passion degree. For myself it would be cooking school or maybe welding that could be done in the evenings. Lastly, the GI Bill will pay for international schools also. So, you could take a year off and live abroad and depending on the country it could be a great experience.

Just watched your video and you asked what you could do with your GI Bill... you can always go to school in San Francisco like Golden Gate University. You can do the Hybrid and do the 1 required class via Zoom and get the full MHA. San Fran MHA is $4, 614! The full MHA for 36 months will be $166, 104! That's what your MHA part of your GI bill can be! This is on top of the Tuition benefits. I know this is the extreme but an option for you.

I'm in a similar dilemma. Have you found an reasonable way to use it yet? The only strategy I can think of is figuring a way to maximize BAH to cost of living, which requires a commitment to live in SanFran or NYC, a move not everybody is willing to make.

Nice vid, my plan personally is to serve 4 years in the Air Force at 18. Join the Air Force reserves for extra income on summer break. Use the post 9/11 to get an electrical engineering degree. But I do understand the opportunity cost, it’s like I’m not going to be in any debt so it’s definitely worth the time commitment.

After re-watching this video, I fully appreciate the predicament you present at the end of the video. I too am in a position where I want to utilize my G.I. Bill, but I have a terminal degree. I love to learn and pursuing another degree so I don't "waste" m G.I. Bill has been on my mind. Once, you consider the opportunity cost of going back to school as someone who has a degree or two under your belt, it makes the decision more difficult. Good luck Jake!!
