How to Download Text Linked Files from Your Email

Learn how to download linked files in your email and on the web.

Links will often be emailed and when you click on them your browser will immediately attempt to open them. With some files (like .zip or .dmg) the browser knows to download them automatically, but with others (like .jpg, .mp3, or .mov) it will attempt to open them right in the browser instead of downloading them for you to save.

Even when there isn't a "download" button you can always save a linked file by right-clicking (or holding ctrl and then click) on the link. Then choose the "Save as..." or "Save target as..." option.
