Two years later and I still can’t stop laughing at Dr. Mike saying “why, is it a werewolf thing?” In response to Pam saying she barks at night

When she was telling the story of people complaining about her “dog” barking, I was hoping the whole time that she’d say “so i got a dog” AND SHE DID & I WAS SO HAPPY😂

So I’m gonna say this. As a non-native english speaker, Pam has such an incredible eloquence and truly uses all of the muscles on her face when she speaks and that makes understanding her so freaking easy! And her voice is so nice to listen too, just overall a pleasure to have Pam.

The story that Pam went through with suing her school system is like what happened with my sister.
My sister, Emily, has ASD and her school couldn't handle behavioral fits that she had. When she was in 9, she couldn't read because no teacher could teach her without her having a tantrum because she would lash out when stressed or if she didn't understand something. She had been switched between special needs classes and mainstream classes in the district, but all had the same problem. One teacher in her mainstream class even made a presentation about "why Emily is different" to the whole class while she wasn't there and without our permission and because of this, she was bullied. On other occasions, she ran out of school once and the teachers had to tackle her because she almost ran into the street and one time she hid in a room in the school and the police had to be called because no one could find her. We pulled her out and my dad started doing home school learning with her and in only a year, she went from kindergarten reading skills to 3rd grade. However, the school refused to acknowledge this or take responsibility for their complete incompetence so we sued them and eventually, we won. My dad was able to teach her for a year with some compensation, and when that was done, we wanted to continue to home school her, but the district wouldn't allow it. So, they recently agreed to put her in a NPS school, where she is now at 13.
She now loves to read and is at about her grade level in academics. There are still daily struggles she has, but we are just trying to do what we can to make her believe in herself.
Right now, I think she is at that phase where she is having trouble finding that thing that makes her proud to be different and gets down on herself a lot, but she has recently started to find a passion in making stories and videos. I'm really proud of her even if she doesn't believe it right now.

Oh, and yes, "I sued the school" is correct because the student's name is always first, so we would all laugh a little when the lawyer would say attorney for Emily or Emily (last name) vs (blank) School District. lol

Thank you if you actually read this rant.

I love her response about liking her disability. I get tired of people who think I should want to be "Healed" because I have autism . Yet I feel that it makes me more imaginative and makes me me.

The moment you see on Dr. Mike's face when his medical side kicks in when Pamela said she doesn't get good sleep.

totally agree about the and those disabled people who feel the world owes them. As a disabled guy, this happens so much when I go out in public - much prefer people come and ask rather than over compensating/pity/avoiding eye contact/crossing the street because they have had a bad experience with other disabled people or if they are worried about doing the wrong thing.

As a 15 year old with really bad tourettes, I am legitimately inspired by Pam to find what makes me who I am and what "clicks" for me. ❤
