I have a pretty souped up 05 ultra and it's very quick....I just bought a new Street glide and the low end torque is AWESOME!!!  And I own a dyno company!  The new transmission has NO clunk and the bike handle AWESOME!!!  There's a HELL of a lot more to offer from the M8 than a couple more hp...plus the cams in the M8 are so mild it aint even funny.  The M8 is going to totally revolutionize Harley Davidson.  4 valves per cylinder ROCKS!!!   Bout time Harley did that!

I love my 107 harley davidson but to tell the truth my 96ci gave me just as much pleasure.
At what point do you really need a huge engine to pull you around? Technology, smoothness, and easy maintenance is where it's at now days.

The real story is area under the curve, the M8 makes way more AVERAGE power. Comparing peak numbers they're relatively close. Idiots that can't read a dyno

My 08 Vulcan 2000 classic was dyno'd at 94 rwhp and 122 ft/lbs torque. It only cost me a fraction of what a Harley would have. Don't get me wrong Harley's are beautiful, fit and finish second to none....just so damn expensive.

It's obviously not about hp or even torque with the new 107 ans 114s. It is about the whole package wirh thw new motors on the new frames and the overall improvement in their bikes. I think I will be happy with my Dyna FXDC for awhile longer. HD can make fast bikes just look at what they have done in the NHRA. That said they are still a little to high priced for me.

Buddy of mine grenaded his month old M-8 motor. In his owns words "I should have kept my twin cam" I'm not sure if it's true but from the sounds of it the M-8 doesn't like having the crap ran out of them. He is on my spare 99' evo bike until Harley puts a new motor in his. Something like the counter balancer came out of time? Cases broke? Piston failed and connecting rod went thru the cylinder wall? Maybe not a good choice as a club scoot?

The m8s should be the evolution to harley but some odd reason they're tryna go electric?? I think it's best to stay with the twin cam because you have so many parts out there. But if harley stops making them then hell.

It's really about where the torque and HP arrive. The graph shows the M8 entering it's peak power band at just over 2000 rpm, while the 110 is at half that value and doesn't reach peak until ~4000 rpm. At that rpm the M8 is still at peak and has been making it's power for 2000 rpm. I think the guy who grenades his engine in a month was probably driving it as if it was a 103.

disappointed. 4 more inches should net much more. It's noticeable in the streets more than the dyno. my 103 with only slip ons runs with and sometimes over 107s. It's the employees job to sell bikes but c'mon man! as they say

It's because motorcycle treadmills aren't made for comparing bikes, they're made to tune motorcycles, sell motorcycles, and to see if your changes did any good.

That's why dynos show crotch rockets having enough power to pull a train
