The breeze arrives from Karbala
Inflicted by thousands a shock,
In the grief of Hussain Ibn Ali
Tears of blood it does unlock.

As the arrow struck Asghar's neck,
Zaynab yearningly called out,
Not a single drop of water gotten
With such words Sakina cried out.

With a water canteen, Abbas embarked,
The heartless tyrants obstructed his way,
As they severed his arm, he lamented;
The antagonising thirst begets dismay.

In the youthful son sacrificing his head,
Hussain testified to the entire creation,
A spear pierced Akbar in such a way
Even the zephyr bowed in prostration.

When the sword was unsheathed,
Thousands died and thousands fled,
The Kufans believed the sword of Ali
Here displayed its quintessential stead.

The order came to immolate the household,
Save the Ummah, sacrifice your head,
Fulfill the promise from your childhood,
The resonating echos in his ears said.
