Alberta Premier Danielle Smith makes an announcement in Calgary concerning her government’s plan to reform Alberta Health Services, the provincial health authority. Immediate actions are rolling out in an effort to expedite emergency medical services, decrease emergency room wait times and reduce surgical wait times for Albertans. The premier is joined at the news conference by Jason Copping, Alberta’s health minister, and Dr. John Cowell, the new administrator of Alberta Health Services.
