How well does a satellite amplifier signal booster work?

How well does a satellite line amplifier / signal booster work? I test out one on a coaxial cable run of over 415 feet.These are inexpensive and may help boost or stabilize the signal at your TV, sometimes being the difference between having a picture that is watchable or not. For use with free satellite TV systems.

Another question, is this signal amplifier work properly with Diseqc switches?

G, day mate, my lnb requires 2 voltages for the horizontal and vertical feeds, 1 being 13volt and the other being 18 volt. I have a satellite inline booster that says 12 to 18 volts is that fine to use on both horizontal and vertical feeds. Cheers julian

Does this work with cable ? I have approx 100 ft of RG6 from splitter to outside bldg. The outside building was wired separately ( with RG6) so I had to put the two together with just a single connector. When I connect it to be cable box, it won’t work. I can take the same coax & connect to the TV thru antenna ( I have a small antenna on my roof ) . It works, but the signal isn’t strong. Will this help if I put it in place where I connected to the two coax cables ? The cable box & TV is about 20 ft from the connection.

The sweet spot to install an amp is around 120' from the lnb i have found .
