Did you know? In 1967, Van Morrison quickly recorded 31 nonsensical songs to fulfill a contract obligation. Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull wrote the 42-minute song "Thick as a Brick" in response to critics labeling his previous album as a "concept album." Dream Theater's live album, released on 9/11/2001 with an eerie cover showing NYC’s skyline in flames, became a strange coincidence in music history, while comedian Chevy Chase once played drums in a college band that later evolved into Steely Dan.

Aqualung is an awesome album. And Think as a Brick is pretty damn good for what Ian Anderson did it for. Still really great writing.

For Dream Theater, they did that as a tribute to their love of New York City, and this cover was chosen weeks before that tragic day. But it's just a massive horrible coincidence that their album features the twin towers in flames, and now that original cover version is out of print and really valuable if you can find it.

“Thick as a Brick” is a fantastic 40 plus minute song. I only heard it for the 1st time a few months ago, but it is already an all time favorite for me. It really is good.

Thick as a Brick is a great album. Granted it is only one song but it's very cool.

Steely Dan got their band name from a book by William S Burroughs. It was the name of a steam powered dildo or something wild like that 😂

I doubt Chevy was anywhere as good as Steve Gadd or any of the other amazing drummers SD had.

To think, Chevy could have been famous due to hotel California, instead of said bandmate
