Jelle Van Loon is a mechanization specialist of the Integrated Development Program, associate scientist at CIMMYT and international consultant. Van Loon is an agricultural engineer specialized in agriculture in tropical and subtropical regions, graduated from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium with a PhD in modeling of biological systems. He worked in remote regions of Peru (Apurímac) focusing on the value chain optimization for small holder farmers in the Andes.
