In this talk, we provide a practical tour of major methodological approaches in building analytics and machine learning systems in the healthcare domain - on FHIR representations. Utilizing Jupyter notebook and synthetic FHIR data, we demo nuances of working with the FHIR format healthcare data and methods to convert FHIR representations into business intelligence and machine learning ready dataset. Lastly, demonstrate a reproducible ML pipeline- training/testing/validation data creation, feature engineering, evaluation metrics, and model deployments using Google Cloud AI Platform tools. .
