How to solve unit rate problems
A ratio is a comparison of two numbers or measurements.
The objects being compared are called the terms of the ratio.
If the two terms are in different units this is called a rate. For example, if a 12-ounce coke costs 84¢, the rate is 84¢ for 12 ounces.
The ratio has cents and ounces You can write this rate as a fraction 84¢/12 ounces or 84¢:12 ounces. Both expressions mean that you pay 84¢ "for every" 12 ounces of coke.

A unit rate is when the quantities are expressed as a ratio of 1
In this video, I solve the following unit rate problems.

Find the unit rate of 100 oranges from twenty trees. How many oranges do you get from one tree?

For every 225 sales calls you make 5 sales. How many sales do you have to make to make a sale?
