«Blue Monday» es un sencillo de la banda británica New Order, publicado por primera vez el 7 de marzo de 1983. La letra fue compuesta por Bernard Sumner. «Blue Monday» fue una de las canciones más importantes de la década de los 80 dando a la música electrónica, la música alternativa y la EBM un auge muy importante.

New Order (en español, literalmente, «Nueva orden» o «Nuevo orden») es un grupo británico de rock alternativo y electrónica formado en 1980.
La banda fue formada por los antiguos integrantes de Joy Division al desintegrarse esta tras el suicidio de su cantante, Ian Curtis. Desde entonces, se ha convertido en una de las bandas más aclamadas por la crítica y una de las más influyentes de la década de los 1980. Durante sus primeros años estuvieron fuertemente influenciados por el legado musical de Joy Division, pero su experiencia en la temprana escena de Nueva York a inicios de la década de 1980, expandió su conocimiento en la música dance y les contribuyó a incorporar elementos de ese estilo en sus obras. El éxito de la banda publicado en 1983 “Blue Monday”, se convirtió en el disco de 12 pulgadas más vendido de toda la historia. Es el claro ejemplo de cómo la banda transformó su sonido y adquirió su propia esencia. Fueron la banda representativa de la desaparecida discográfica independiente de Manchester, Factory Records.
En 1993 se separaron admitiendo tensión y problemas internos entre los integrantes de la banda, pero a pesar de ello, en 1998 se reunieron nuevamente. En 2001, Cunningham (guitarra, teclado y sintetizador), relevó a Gilbert, quien dejó la banda por problemas familiares. En 2007 Peter Hook también dejó la banda y finalmente se separaron de nuevo. Llegando al grado de que en 2009 Sumner declarara que ya no deseaba hacer música como integrante de New Order. No obstante, la banda se reunió nuevamente en 2009, sin Hook y con Gilbert de regreso y Cunningham ocupando el sitio de Hook como bajista.

Carl Cox (Oldham, Gran Mánchester; 29 de julio de 1962) es un reconocido DJ y productor inglés especializado en mezclar música electrónica de los géneros house, techno y tech-house.
Actualmente reside en Oldham, Gran Mánchester (Reino Unido). Es uno de los DJ más cotizados mundialmente. Fue nombrado el mejor DJ del año en 1997 por la revista DJmag y considerado el decimoctavo mejor DJ del mundo en 2009 por la misma influyente revista. Asimismo, es considerado por la revista electrónica TheDjlist como el quinto mejor DJ del mundo. Según expertos en música electrónica Carl Cox ocupa el puesto No.1 a nivel mundial en calidad musical y técnica.

Ever since I first heard this set, I've always loved those two girls who enter in from the right as this track mixes in and just take over with their dancing. Especially the blonde and her sequence from 1:31 - 1:35! That backward hip toss she does gets me every time! Just absolutely feeling the beat, sexy and seductive if you will.
