the fact that markie starts in the middle of the story about how she was abducted is so suspicious. she didn't even try to come up with a cohesive story beforehand, she just thought it would be dramatic and personal enough in the moment that she wouldn't be questioned, she didn't care whether or not what she was saying was believable because she's not used to having to actually try in order for blaire to eat it up. even when she said she was psychotic, it was obvious she didn't actually believe it and was just saying it because she knew that's what nev and max thought and she hoped it would make her seem more genuine. she was so angry when nev interrupted because she knows that blaire is an easy target and that she can't gaslight her when there's someone there protecting her

The way Ja'la says "I want you to, at least, accept my apology", shows me that she isn't *grown-up* at that point. Apologies, when you make one, might not be accepted (not that you should make one just to be forgiven) or if they are accepted, sometimes it takes a day or a week or a month or even a year but that's the choice of the person you apologise to, you don't get to dictate how and when someone forgives you.
Hell, I was older than her when I learned that lesson and, looking back, I really appreciate being able to learn that my "sorry" won't get an instant "it's okay, I forgive you; overall, I just hope she was able to learn something else that day.
