This is a machine I captured at the 2019 Telford Classic Dirt Bike Show. It's a very rare 1981 BSA 125 Tracker. Although these bikes were named as BSA's they were really more or less a Yamaha DT125 with a BSA badge on them., and they were only available for sale in the UK and Australia.

I found a 125 Tracker in a skip at the beginning of last year's lockdown - just about finished the rebuild now! Had been a farm bike for 20 years and needed a lot of love!

Love the way they have used part of a 1970s Tesco wire shopping basket as a headlamp guard.

I had the 50cc BSA Brigand, it was a great little bike it had the same 1Gallon tank which lasted a week - It was made better by fitting some decent on/off road tyres, the original knobbleys' were a nightmare and saw me bouncing down the road on my Ar$e a couple of times. The best bit about them was that BSA couldn't figure out how to properly restrict and they would happily do 40/45mph. Also they had a reserve switch which left you about a pint of fuel to get you to the garage - Also, no one ever mentions that they 'didn't' have a key - you carried a bike lock.

I remember when they first appeared in the UK, "BSA IS BACK!" announced the headlines in the bike mags we used to buy.

I used to have the NVT badged version, the 175 Rambler, in its original very nice metallic blue and silver paint job.
Apart from the Yamaha engine, electrics, switchgear and instruments I think most of the other major components were Italian, such as front forks and yokes and the frame. The factory fitted Italian made front end on my NVT 175 was also fitted with a hydraulic disc brake.
The only British items I could identify on my standard and original low mileage NVT Rambler were the Tyres.

The bikes were physically smaller than the Yamaha DT125 & 175 MX machines, but they seemed well made with good components, although I really prefered the Yamaha DT 175.

I had the red one in 1984, rode it back from Blackpool to Newark with a broken clutch cable. No camera's on the traffic lights in those days 😂

These where for sale in the uk in 1979 as i went and brought a new BSA 125 cc from Trevor goodalls motorcycles in Didcot Oxfordshire. That was white and still in my Dads garage under all the other junk .
The bike was sold next to 50 cc Brigend and Beaver models LOL. I ordered the NVT model as it had better graphics but the BSA was delivered instead come to think of it that was a tracker . Ill ask me dad to hook it out when I'm in the area .
