Look guys, we share the good, the bad and the ugly on this channel. We are as transparent as possible. If you don’t like that, there are plenty of other channels that make life and travelling look perfect for you to watch 🤣

Smiling and laughing during tough situations even when its was painful shows how good your characters are and how easy going you are.
Others might show frustration easily and get upset because they had to, but you guys didn’t, bravo 👏🏼

I worked in the hotel. Just sharing some info with you guys, it's not common to let confirmed guests to wait for 4 hours to get info whether there is room available. But that's for 5 stars hotel like Shangri-la. For 2, 3 stars hotels in touristy places like Bali, Phuket, etc, it's possible to happen.
Usually is : the hotels really don't have room at that particular time, but there is buffer time, where the guest who occupied that room decided to check out last minute, this freeing that room for next guest.
Why 4 hours? That room & toilet must be cleaned, during pandemic is also disinfected, the whole linens must be changed, and remember - last minutes check out means that chambermaid has done that shift, you must wait for the next shift staff to do the job. You must give the staff grace period as currently peak holiday season.

Anyway, wishing you happy time in Thailand. Koh Samui, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai are places worth discovering.
South Thailand has many Muslims. North Thailand predominantly Buddhist.
Be respectful & have a good time exploring those places. Stay safe.

I have been in Bali the past three weeks and am absolutely loving it! Zero issues, lovely people, great food, great hotels and cheap! Great scuba diving, beaches, rice terraces volcanos, what’s not to LOVE?!

I can't see how bad planning on your behalf creates an emergency on the others behalf?? If you booked in advance things might be a lot better for you...if you don't like booking ahead and want to be spontaneous then this is your issue...and also why not boom direct with hotels etc?? why use a third party site?? the hotel gets less profits if you book thru an app....so they run a business and really don't like the booking agents taking their profits. Maybe do some looking into the cultures and festivals, religious activities of the countries you visit...knowledge is power.

It's a feedback...if your not enjoying the negative feedback then don't post things!!! Stop blaming bad things on your lack of preparation....seriously it looks pathetic.

sad that you have experienced this issue. as 70yo regular yearly long term visitors to bali since the 90's, we have found that planning for us is vitally essential, we even pay an extra night using this for a 6pm checkout to travel back to the airport so we can be more relaxed. good luck

Well I mean this really isn’t the typical experience. Most ppl who go to Bali have already booked their stay somewhere and if you haven’t and your just traveling on a wing and a prayer, you have to expect that delays and frustrations could happen. You can’t really blame the place for that.

I can’t even imagine the stress and anger after finding out the hotel didn’t even exist. You both always make the best of it and work it out. Cheers!

Unfortunately this was all down to poor planning on your part guys, booking hotels/Airbnbs at the literal last minute seriously?? During holidays too lol.. Rack it up as a live n learn experience, and do a little more research in future before you go somewhere

We just left Bali on Monday after an extra week there. Bookings were slim even then and we already noticed the influx of visitors last weekend. FYI, Indonesia = largest Muslim population in South East Asia + Eid (largest holiday after Ramadan fasting for 1 month ) = 1 week off national holiday. Kinda like trying to get a hotel last minute during Xmas or NYE in Canada.

I’m currently in Bali and head back to Sydney tomorrow, booked our pool villa 8months ago with no issues at all, if you don’t plan ahead this is what you get 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Good for you for calling things out. Travelers who are mistreated by misinformation should call out to put the location/business on notice and warn others. Glad you keep a positive attitude and keep moving to enjoy your travel.

Travel tips: use a mobile phone when traveling to call and confirm your online booking. Also if trying to stay w/in budget for hotel accommodations in Bali look away from the beach…There are rooms in Ubud today at a great price even as you say here “everything is booked” . A bit of additional cab fare…

Thank you for sharing not only the glamourous side of being a digital nomad, but this is the reality of facing constant challenges traveling and living abroad. Most YouTubers are selling you a lifestyle, a dream of living as a digital nomad, but there are many challenges along the way.

Let this video be a lesson to anyone who decides to travel as a digital nomad during Covid times.

- Educate yourself on where you're at and where you're going, on what is going on in the place you're currently staying and local customs/holidays.
- Do NOT trust third party websites for bookings and reservations. It is incredibly rare that they will ever refuse a booking, or confirm a location as fully booked. They want that money.
- Stop trying to stay in the most crowded and populated tourist areas of every place you go. Seminyak and Kuta are both HIGHLY populated tourist areas of Bali (this video was posted in May 2022), it was a holiday, and you're trying to stay in this area the first month after Bali fully opened back up to tourism... Why? You could have stayed in Kerobokan, Sanur, a boatload of places in Denpasar, and still had ZERO issues getting to the airport. Try staying in places where tourists DO NOT EXIST, you'll be much happier for it. I promise.

**For context, I've been traveling SEA since 2018 and have lived in Bali for over three years.** All the best to you both. 🤙🏼

Just can't believe the sense of total self entitlement that is now synonymous with millennials. Folks, ignorance is no defence. If you want to be travel vloggers, do your research...

I'd suggest heading from Bangkok to the island of Koh Chang in the east just by the Cambodian border, it only takes 6 hours on a coach from Bangkok and is a beautiful island. you can also then get a boat from Koh Chang to the islands of Koh Mak and Koh Kood, which are also beautiful. it's also a bit quieter than the southern islands of Thailand, with some great accommodation options.

before to book/pay; call first the hotel! Specially during holidays

The moral of this story is that you need to check national holidays, and in the case of Bali, school holidays in Australia. Then you get unusual events that you normally would not think about. Such as the G20 summit that will be held in Bali in November 2022.

Please just stop vlogging. Enjoy your travels, and good luck to you both. There’s a huge disconnect between your apparent travel experience and your actual travel knowledge and skills. Sure, the hotel fiascos could happen anywhere to anyone, but I’ve watched a couple other videos too and it’s apparent your approach is almost intentionally “how can we best show how NOT to be a traveler.” I apologize for sounding so negative, but after watching so many quality travel channels that show the good and the bad and how to avoid mistakes, I just don’t understand your ineptitude.
