Just calm down!

The Textile‘s Pattern
———————————-
Here some information to the textile‘s pattern! In general our videos are not showing you the textile, that belongs to the loom‘s ethnic tradition! First at all the reason behind is, we lack on information about this! So these videos are no teaching about traditional weaving patterns! Second and most important is, that we focus onto the functional relation of the loom-types inbetween the traditions. That is the reason, we try to use one selected traditional warp-type from one loom to the other. That may be confusing, in some cases even embarrassing, but out of wrong perspective! We planned first to work just with a plain-weave, white textile for these demonstrations, but that takes the glory and the face of these beautiful design works.
The here shown pattern is a free-style interpretation of the weaving style of Karen people. The only one we learned personally from a Karen weaver about 30 years ago in Chiang Mai. At that time this brillant pattern was a bit vanishing under the mainstream of what tourists demand!
If you want to learn this Karen textile pattern, it may be a good idea to get in contact with @HillTribeWeavingClass in Chiang Mai! They may teach you this pattern!
