i used dewalt drills for 20 years then i decided to try ridgid which i like...now i have some milwaukee as well...the gen 3 combo kit....i have noticed that the quality in materials that dewalt is using today feels cheaper than it did years ago but when comparing it to milwaukee or ridgid the plastic body of dewalt impacts & drills looks and feels not as heavy duty as the other 2 brands ...dewalt drills from 15-20 years ago felt real solid...not the ones they make today

Me and my dad have been using the 887 made in Mexico impacts for about three years now. Mine has never overheated or smoked and has no problem with lag bolts and spade bits.

I'm a dewalt guy, however I also have had my disappointments with dewalt and been on the verge of changing to Milwaukee tools. I'm glad someone is willing to call dewalt out on some of there crappy quality tools they have. Its like they dont take pride in there tools anymore. Like they just provide quality tools when they wanted to bring the name up and once they did, they stop caring. Milwaukee is really stepping it up. Dewalt, I hope someone reads this message and actually does something about it, if you dont. You will loose allot of us who have been loyal to your brand.

I'm from Europe and i have the 887 which is made in Czech Republic.I use it regularly and never had an issue with it.Also, the rest of my Dewalt tools are made in China and Czech Republic, no issues either with none of them.

My 887 US model has been used and abused daily for 2 years. Heat, rain, cold... still driving 5/16 head structural screws through metal z girts all day no complaints

Put to the test let’s see if the made in Mexico has a different brushless motor I would go as far and take the Motors out of both impacts if it survives

I was DeWalt but now i'm always going for Makita or Bosch. DeWalt has let me down multiple times now. In other note i was Gonna get the ridgid palm router and thanks to your video went for the Bosch Colt. You've won a subscriber.

I purchased the FlexVolt 60 Circular saw Kit that came with a free 887 Impact Driver from the Depot. I just checked it and the impact driver was made in Mexico. So they do sell kits with the Mexico made impact driver.

In the UK, our Dewalts, esp the drills and impacts, are either made in China or Czech republic.China are type 1, while czech made are usually type 10.I used to think the czech made tools were better, but after several minor issues, im beginning to think China is best.
The only exception i have is the DCG412 grinder, which is made in Mexico...some are Czech made, and its a total lottery as to which you get when ordering.

So I have a question I'm buying into the dewalt platform I like the 60 v flexvolt skillsaw I have should I just buy the 787 driver and skip the newer ones? Seems like the 787 has had no problems on your tool test raws

How's the wobble on the 887 (Mexico)? More or less wobble than 887 (USA)? On my 887 (USA) I find the switch for speeds 1-3 sticks a bit, it takes a lot of force to switch between speeds (maybe I have a bad unit). I like the collar on the Dewalt, when you pull it the bit springs out. Milwaukee doesn't have that. Also the lights are way better. Anyways, what's up with all the hate for made in China? Where do you think all the high end smart phones (Apple, Samsung, HTC, etc.) are made? Foxconn (China). If a country can produce a high quality tool efficiently at an affordable price, they deserve a chance to earn my business. That being said, if the "Made in the USA with Global Materials" tools were even higher quality... I'd definitely go for that.

I had to check for myself. We have quite a few Dewalt tools that are made in Mexico. I just picked up my cordless orbital sander and it’s made in Mexico.

Connect both drivers with one drill bit, test which one is tougher, I bet Mexico will win the competition.
