HOW TO INSTALL ESPAR D2 HEATER IN DIY CAMPER VAN | Eamon & Bec

This is how we installed an Eberspacher (Espar) D2 diesel heater in our DIY Sprinter van conversion. We hope to show you a full HOW TO and provide you with the tools necessary to tackle this project on your own. Van life in Canada gets cold... REAL cold, so installing this heater in our camper van was the best decision we ever made.

A couple of friendly heater tips from icy cold sweden: 1. Dont direct the intake under the car, the biggest reason for heater malfunction by far is that it sucks in dirty air and that cloggs up the inside and it starts burning inefficient and in the end stops working all together. Instead let it draw air from engine compartment or somwhere else (not airtight offcourse, but shielded of from dust and dirt as good as possible) 2. Buy and install an airfilter (there are special tiny airfilters, or make your own) for it. For said reason, it will make the heater run smoothly for much longer.

Yeah! Thank you, thank you for this video! I think this is the exact heater for me. Don't have the van yet, but I am moving out of my house into my tiny rv trailer very soon and plan to have a van by fall for full time stealth van living. I am super interested in the muffler and knowing how that turns out in terms of stealth van living! My little RV trailer has been the absolute worst in terms of condensation. I am Canadian made, strong and free, I can stand up to the cold, but never, ever mould! Following your blogs, like a stalker! LOL! Your experience and get er done kinda attitude is so helpful!
