I actually think that if you suck ( like me ), it’s better to just go in with default supplies right now so you can *practice*. Don’t worry about win streaks, huge hour glass values or losing - just get reps in.

As someone who hates boarding - I just queue up, get matched, try and put a few holes in them and board. I was able to get 4 matches in within 20 minutes, two of which I won. Before, I would have spent 50k in supplies and 20 minutes getting more from Sea Forts, just to die within the first 5 minutes a few times.

Once you’re getting some confidence - THEN supply up and try a match.

Feel like ships that sink should drop a fraction of their supplies in the form of floating barrels. Like maybe a third of them for the winning team to gather.

I have one simple idea to solve some problems :) .... JUST AD A TIMER TO THIS MODE ! And after the timer ran down the arena gets smaler until someone has to sink.

On the topic of supplies. It’s pretty well known that fortresses are fantastic for food, however they can only provide normal cannons. Quick tip that’s saved my skin in terms of supplies is shipwrecks, if you see one, loot it. They have a ton of food, chain shots, and a decent chance for cursed cannon balls.

I usually do sloop duo with my girlfriend. She’s pretty good at raising the mast 😁while I focus on landing shots. It’s a team effort.

At the end of the day it’s all about having fun. That’s what’s most important

If you harpoon turn on the other ship at the right angle. you can stay directly behind them And they're in your broadside.

The one with the mast is very dangerous. Because it doesn't make any sense to raise it, when you are fighting over the cannon-line-dominance. We learned it, when our mast went down and my mate immediatly left the cannon to catch it. The result was that every time he had it up, it went down again. At the end we had more holes than a cheese, I was knocked of, and the mast was still down. They were completely dry. At the start of the explained situation it was the other way round.
So that advice led to us going down.
Always make sure, that you are out of the cannonball-rain before getting your mast up.

if you're away from your ship and trying to get a mermaid spawn make sure you're swimming in the opposite direction of your ship's path, it'll make it spawn much faster

Don't forget when raising sails after they've been knocked down: GET ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SHIP THAN THE ENEMY WHO IS SHOOTING AT YOU. 9/10 They're hitting with cannonballs not blunders, going for the sink, giving you the chance to raise. Then get one board on your mast, drop and go.

I think a good fix for getting supplies fast. Is to make all the merchants and shipwrights shops reset the moment you sink. Instead of having to wait for that 2 hour timer that you get when you purchase supplies from them. That way you don't have to keep doing sea forts and instead just hop outpost to outpost and maybe a few skeleton forts between outposts.

it has surprised me how quickly most people crumble under pressure as a solo sloop, but it's also nice to see. people are trying new things and learning pvp, and i love that.

It always makes me happy when information is given to me in a concise and efficient manner. Good stuff dude!

I was hyped as hell about this update, won 10 in a row then have barely won a fight since now that I’m only queued up against sweat lords that I don’t stand a chance against

.... Love the vid but the part about the ramming strat. I tried it for half the battles I did and it works surprisingly well, if the two ships ram head to head and I board them 8 time out of ten they sink first because I hit them at the right angle. I don't know why but I have sunk around 50 ships by just ramming at the beginning. XD

0:43 We employ the ram strat because we want the battle to end and get to the next match. When we ram, it'll either result in a win or a loss for us - either of which will let us move on to the next match. No need for naval that can potentially take 40+ minutes.

I get ridiculous supps by voting up Lord's of the sea and just letting Jack sparrow cannon all the ghost ships then cancel the TT and collect all the ghost creates .. doesn't take long to get heaps of cannon balls and wood like this ;)

When fighting solo I often encountered casual people who did not know they stated they were willing to be invaded. Like I had to sink a dude who was underwater doing the 2nd pirate's life tall tail because he voted the hourglass for whatever reason he or she may had. So I expect to find more confused casual random when matching for solo fights.
I didn't have many opportunities to play solo because all my friends are excited for the new season, so my experiences it's not a statistic, but it is a bias I developed when I played solo

They could make something like special resources you can buy from someone only if you joined servants/athenas, if you instantly leave after buying that, it will disapear- 30min timer before leaving them or something. It could be more expensive but it should have like 100 cb 100 planks and 100 bananas or give you some if you go under the water for free

They should do like a week before April fool where the dark adventurer sails are extended to a full square. It would be funny to see how pathetic the reaction will be

This season started off great for me, but it quickly soured. The matchmaking and wait times just destroyed it for me. Way more often than not now, I've had to wait 20+ minutes (one wait which I timed at 27 minutes) for a match only to be put up against people who are just... WAY beyond my skill level. I'm no slouch at PvP, but I would say realistically 90%+ of my fights...and I'm not exaggerating here, have been against people who are in that upper tier of players. Those who I know are beyond my ceiling. Right now, I'm on a 0-9 streak over the past few days, no kidding - haven't won a match since this past Sunday. It's been literally every match I've had recently. Maybe it's because I only have about 90 minutes each morning to play and the player pool I'm drawing from is disproportionally sweaty, but I've also noticed that when I DO get into successive matches, they're against the same people! 2, 3, 4+ times back to back to back. Just this past Saturday, I fought the same person FIVE TIMES IN A ROW.

I don't mind taking a loss. But when I know there's a good probability that the crew who just handed my rear end to me is going to be my opponent for my next 3 matches, it gets hard to enjoy losing.

The matchmaking has destroyed my desire to play Sea of Thieves, and that's coming from a Day 1 player with damn near 5000 hours in the game at this point.
I PvP a LOT in Sea of Thieves. I get into a lot of fights against a lot of different crews. The randomness of not knowing who you're going to face off against in Adventure was always my preferred playstyle. Sometimes you steamroll. Sometimes you pick a fight with someone you reeeeaaaally shouldn't have. But the matchmaking for me so far in Season 8 has been horrible to the point where I'm seriously thinking of putting the game down for a while. It's just not fun.
