I think Bach Cello Suite No.6 was originally composed for a 5-string cello (which obviously no longer exists). I think this cello suite is meant for the viola da gamba. It sounds beautiful!

Wow! Seven strings. That's a lot of strings to navigate and you've got what it takes to do it. Its really powerful when you go across all of them with your bow in various parts of the piece. I think Bach is so popular because he is the master of melody. I long to see you succeed in this album because you are a purist.

I had visions of horse drawn cutter sleds in the snow because I thought a gavotte was a French term for a sled. Good thing I looked it up. It is a French type of dance from the reign of Louis XIV. Later on in the 1900 century it took on a different meaning. Great performance😁❗ I prefer the voila da gamba to the cello.

Ich mag es, wenn ein Instrument etwas rauh und sperrig klingt. Diese vermutlich sehr alte Gambe hat Charakter, und der kommt hier gut heraus. Ich bin natürlich neugierig: Was ist das für ein Instrument?
