Fix NET Framework 3 5 installation Error: 0x800F0906, 0x800F081F, 0x800F0907

The problem occurs when trying to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on a computer that is running any of these operating systems. Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.

Why does the error happen? The error code 0x800F0906, 0x800F081F, 0x800F0907 occurs when the computer cannot download the required files from Windows Update Server

We can fix this issue in group policy editor.
1. Open Group Policy
2. Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System
3. Open Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair select Enabled.
4. Check-mark Contact windows directly to download. repair content instead of windows server update services (WSUS)

Just an update with this, that I found to work for myself.

If this doesn't work after following the steps, simply go the the search bar at the bottom of your desktop and search "Services" once that has come up, look for a service called "Windows Update" and make sure that is either set to Enabled or Manual, once that's been set try it again and I'm sure it'll work.

Perfect Instruction! I was trying to install this on an Atom processor. Even directly attached to the Internet, it was taking SO long to download all the files from that Microsoft Update Server. Going directly to Microsoft made it very bearable. Thanks a lot

This worked for me and great. All other guides from others failed. I had taken extra precaution to install it under Administrator of the system. Also ensured the system has LAN cable network connection to Internet and is not joined to any Domain.

Wow!!! I had always used the offline method with DISM command prompt with the installation disc. But I have this troublesome Windows installation giving me tough time.

when i put gpedit nothing showed up but i soon put edit group policy. my question is on the step were you used the command processor will gpupdate work?since it didnt work on the search bar
