I'm disabled and unable to work, and I've been living in terror of the DWP for years. I've heard all sorts of stories of genuinely disabled people who've died as a direct result of having their benefits cut. 330, 000 of them died over a period of eight years. Every year, I've asked myself, "Could I be next?"
Five years ago, the DWP called me in for an assessment, and they made a bad decision for my case. I had to make an appeal to an independent tribunal to have it reversed. I won, but the ordeal took a toll on me. I've been living in stress and terror ever since. I have not had a full night's sleep for five years, and the stress they caused me is still causing my health to deteriorate.

What really fills me with rage over this is the fact that their efforts to get people off benefits is costing more money than it does to simply pay them, and worse still, the only ones getting hurt in all of this are the disabled. How about they go after the real parasites, the tax evading Tory bonus scroungers who're embezzling the country and shipping the cash off to the Cayman Islands?

Notice with DWP always frightening their customers into fear. When they are low, kick them lower, and install more barriers so they never get back to employment they will be scared. No longer trust people in the real world; you end up seeking advice with your mental health. Due to the damage these people in power have caused, bloody ridiculous.

As a pensioner this absolutely terrifies me. We lent our kids loads of money over the years for deposits on houses and my son's pilot training. They are now in a position to pay back some of the money and we are getting just over £1, 000 a month back. My fear is the DWP will see that money and count it as unearned income and tax us on it or worse still means test us and decide we don't need our state pensions. We aren't drinkers, neither of us has smoked and we've never had expensive holidays. We have lived a very frugal lifestyle and still do all so we can help the kids and grandkids as sering them happy and achieving things gives us pleasure. They have already stolen 6 years pension off me being a WASPI woman. How much more do they want. Evil thieves.

There are plenty of wealthy people fiddling far more money than benefits claimants. Over 80% if losses by the DWP are due to their own mistakes. They should be investigated themselves.
