It’s still early doors, but I’m very excited for this season. He was almost written off because of the man he’s replaced, but Slot is ruthless and we’ve hit diamond once again with our manager acquisition

Szoboszlai is so good. I do worry because of this role his numbers won’t be as impressive but his role in the team is so important. I also think how he has adapted from a more attacking role to a midfield role where he covers a lot of ground is so impressive. Big future ahead for Szoboszlai.

Another thing that's really helped Slot is the continuity of the squad. The pundits get so hung up on transfers, whose in whose out, it feels like a failure when Liverpool only sign 1 player, but there's a lot to be said for stability and continuity too, we had a whole new midfield last season which has played a full year together now, and you can see it in the way they work together as a group.

This is the most excited I’ve been to watch Liverpool since we challenged for the quad. Arne is the man

When I hear comments about the way Slot's Liverpool plays and therefore, this and that could be a weakness, it makes me chuckle. Slot will just make a few tweaks and changes to the approach and find a solution. He has so many ideas for how to set up his team. He really, really knows his stuff.

I love the solidity of the backline. Reminds me of 2019

I am happy for Ryan, he looks so dejected when he first joined, unsure and apprehensive from the bad Bayern experience, and last season under Klopp he slowly started to smile and blend in. I am so glad he is beginning to blossom, his talent was obvious in last season.

Liverpool fan here. I think why slot has done so well is not only is he seemingly a really good manager but he’s also very very smart. He’s using aspects from the way klopp played and added his own, this does a few things it allows the players to still have comfort in ways they play, it allows him to implement what he wants easier due to not changing everything and it decreases confusion as player already have an idea of what to do. It’s much too early to say we’re going to win anything but I like the style we play.

At first I was skeptical of Arne Slot as I'm sure everyone was, I know it's early days but I'm really excited for Arne Slot!
He has improved Gravenberch, Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz so much!

Dutchie here: Great comment! Slot has the players to make them champion. That's a luxury for him. He got a Feyenoord team where 8 players were sold off to other European teams. (That's a big continuous problem in our competition for years now). But he made them champions of the Dutch league! He's a master of making players become even better than rhey thought And: you showed a little bit of Slot's trademark, the 'Hot zone'. I guess you call it the danger zone or zone 14. When everything goes according to plan, you'll see an overflow of this zone with attackers, midfielders and full backs. He creates a 6-4 or 5-4 advantage there. This often resulst in a goal attempt for the strikers (Salah sprinting in the box for example). And in the defence you'll often see a one to one situation. But that's no problem. The defenders, midfielders and also the goalkeeper, who has a specific task, are very close to eachother. So when a defender makes a mistake, there are enough players to compensate for it. Of course Liverpool will concieve goals and lose matches. That's part of the game. But in the end I think they will be the champions of this year.

0:35 the possession at Brentford game was 62%. I agree with a lot of Liverpool supporters in the comments that's too early to judge the manager and there are other factors as well to be considered as management support with new signings, injuries, long season…etc.

As a Liverpool fan, it's too early to tell. Although he has had an impressive start to the season, we shouldn't say he is the best thing since sliced bread. I remember last season when Ange Postecoglou started well, and every pundit and YouTuber was saying the same thing. We haven't yet seen how he will balance between European Cup competition, and he hasn't even played against all the teams, let alone City and Arsenal.

After the second pre-season game I was just immensely relieved because you could already see exactly what we were trying to do. We already look like a more coherent, thoroughly coached team after a month of Arne than United do after 2 years and 600m spent by Ten Hag.

Love it when you break down teams tactics, especially Liverpool! ❤

Great video, many said slot has just inherited a great system and squad but the fact they’ve conceded so few goals is testament to the changes made and one which could be the difference in the title race, as even city didn’t keep many clean sheets last season

Great vid. I’m most impressed with how few chances they’re conceding. That’s a big change from the last few seasons under Klopp and is more reminiscent of when they were at their best in that 18-20 era and 21/22 season.

I think Trent has been really strong defensively as well, showing me the last couple seasons has 1. Been his positioning but also 2. He’s been a bit lax with his defending but from what he’s said in an interview recently is that if you don’t defend, you’ll get dropped and it’s a non-negotiable for slot whereas I think with Klopp, Trent knew he was essentially undroppable unless injured so he let that side of his game slip.

Intrigued to see how they handle going a goal down because that has yet to happen, even in preseason. I’m sure they’ll be fine but it’ll be interesting to see how slot tweaks things.
