In the second episode of Digging Deep Series 3 recorded live at London's Rough Trade East, Robert talks about 29 Palms, a city in San Bernardino County; nestled next to Joshua Tree National Park. It's an 'electrostatic generator for the purpose of rejuvenation and time travel' and the inspiration behind the song that Robert has chosen to talk about in this episode.

Fate of Nations is Roberts best solo album for me, some brilliant musicians on it. Still play it today 👍🎶

I remember the first time I heard "29 Palms". It was right after my junior year of high school. My friend Jerry and I were huge Zeppelin fans, and somebody named Plant, Page, or Jones could have released an album of mouth harp solos and we would have been all over it. Anyway, we picked up Fate of Nations, went back to Jerry's place, and played it. Everything blew us away, but "29 Palms" was something really special. "He's still got it, man, " one of us said to the other... I'm not sure which, because, well. But yeah, he still had it, and he still does.

You're much more than legend& my parents are gone. I'm 45& my parents played led zep records for me when I was a little girl. Then in my teen years for Christmas I asked for led zep tapes. My dad played ship of fools a lot when he was driving. These memories are all I have because we didn't talk for 20 yrs before he died. I hope you understand what your music means to some.

This is one of my favorite songs, and having Francis Dunnery singing back up, and his guitar work just helped to make this whole album magical! I have been a fan of yours (and obviously Zep) since I was 12 years old in 1969. You are brilliant, Robert, THANK YOU for your incredible talent!
