Did You Know In HERCULES…

The role of Phil made some interesting changes throughout production. Originally, Danny DeVito declined to actually audition for the part, so they ended up having multiple other big name actors audition for the part. Eventually, one of the actors joked about how he felt they were just going to give the part to Danny. After a pasta lunch with Danny, he eventually signed on. Phil also has a line that was used for most of the trailers where he says, “Don’t let your guard down because of a pair of big goo-goo eyes!” Originally, he says a pair of big, blue eyes, but once the scene was put in color, Meg’s eyes were in fact purple, so they re-recorded the line. Oddly enough, Megara is actually a merge between all four of Hercules’ mythological wives.

Phil in the mythology is way different, unrecognizably different: his name is actually Chiron, he is a centaur and he is killed by Heracles (the actual greek name of Hercules)

This is the rare moment where one of these did you know channels is actually handing out some good fun facts. Not straight up lies or things that are so obvious that even a toddler would understand.

Phil is also a mix of three different greek characters.
1.Chiron: The trainer of heroes who was a centaur.
2.Philoctetes: In name only.
3.Pan: Is a satyr with a similar design and personality.

I remember the big blue eyes trailer. I remember hearing goo-goo in the final release and thinking that sounded WAY better, so I just assumed that's why they changed it.

Fun fact: in Hercules, when he's in the trophy room scene when he beat the Nemean lion by squeezing it to death, he's seen wearing the hide, but the hide is actually scar from the lion king.
Also there's a mistake in the movie. When Hercules enters tartarus to rescue megara, he initially is close enough to put his hand into the river Styx. But later in the next scene he does a swan dive from a higher shot.

Love that all it takes is a pasta lunch and Danny’s voicing a character

.... Let us not forget she is named after a Fury.... You know one of the tormentors of the dead. And sadly the specific one that would have hounded Heracles if not for Dady Thunderduck to say he deserved the fields of Elysium.

Fun fact: although it’s extremely rare. People can have purple, violet or lavender eye color naturally.

Fun fact his 4th wife killed him, told by a centaur to use its blood on a claok to make heracles more faithful “to win him back” and well heracles used the cloak and was in so much pain but he was unable to remove the cloak so he burned himself alive

I saw somewhere that the four women who narrate sections of the movie are actually called muses, and there was no mention of any of them being married. Besides, the Hercules in the Disney animated movie never had a chance to marry once, let alone four times, before Hades set his plan to kill baby Hercules in motion by sending his minions Pain and Panic to steal the baby god and have drink the potion Hades had concocted to turn Hercules into a complete human - provided that Hercules drank all of the potion - so that Panic and Pain could easily kill Hercules. But something happened to stop Pain and Panic from completing their mission of making sure Hercules drank al of Hades' potion. This left Hercules as a mostly human being with god-like strength. As mostly human, he fell in love with Megara, and she fell in love with him. So, anyway, my point is that if Hercules had ever been married to the four muses, then his real dad, Zeus, would have found a way to revive that memory during the scene where Hercules went to the nearest temple to his home to find out what his real identity was after the human couple gave Hercules back the medallion that had been around his neck the day they found him as a baby and took him in, which all happened before Hercules met Megara. So, Hercules wouldn't have needed to fall in love with and marry a fifth woman if he already had four wives.

Yea I heard that too, big blue eyes and big goo goo eyes. Every time I watch it, I hear "goo goo eyes" more and more. But as a kid, I heard Big blue goo eyes.... which made no sense
