Somalia Has Big coastline with a lot of Fish and Oil in it and good for tourism Industries.

It has competitive edge on all these Three mentioned, and it will bring a lot of cash to this regional block.

Somalia has the most deep ports in Africa despite the civil war. It is strategically located between Asia and Africa. It has more oil than any other country in Africa once it's exploited . Somali traders dominate African markets . Somalia can group with Ethiopia Sudan Djibouti and Eritrea, it will be a big loss for EAC!

Somalia's geographic locations adds huge advantage to the economic development of the East African Community as it brings at least five deep sea ports in the greater Indian Ocean (Somali Sea and the Gulf of Aden). This would facilitate international maritime trade with EAC and the wider African hinterland, thus substantially improving the overall ecomic viability of the region by reducing the cost of goods as well as the delivery time. It will also ease the transport headache of relying just 3 ports for such a huge population (480 million).

Furthermore, Somalia is currently undergoing huge post-war reconstruction boom, which is a boon to East African firms willing to exploit the untapped Somali market for products and services to say the least.
