EV ZXA1-Sub for the DJ Micro System

At 46 lbs, it's a bit more than I really wanted to deal with. However, I can manage it & it complements my 8" top cabs to the point where I can most likely go up to 200 people :)

I listened to your sub on and off comparison with Sony 7506 phones and without the sub you could barely hear any bass guitar. World of difference and they sound nice and tight. Thanks for taking the time to share this stuff with us. By the way, the RCF's sound great!

Nice sub. Good luck with building the rest of your micro system.

Hey Brian! Really love your videos man! I'm thinking about getting that sub to go with my K10's.

We've been pairing up a ZXA1 sub with Yamaha DXR10's with some fab results. Highly portable and packing a real punch for their size. Haven't needed the 2nd Sub yet, but soon will for bigger events.

I'm sorry to laugh but the way Brian came in walking up to the speaker with that slow music, I thought he was about to strip holding that pole like like 😂. great video btw

Brian The Sub makes the system sound balanced. That is what your really looking for. a pair of 12 inch speakers sound balanced for small parties. but with your limitations it makes a good balancer.

I agree I think these are going to be perfect for small to medium sized gigs. I'll still have my two Carvin LS1801A for larger gigs.

I understand it's a micro system. It looks good, I'm just starting out with weddings and parties. I'm borrowing my current setup. I plan on using the cva-121 with 2 cva-28 tops. Love cerwin vega and the 21 inch stroker just sounds mean. BTW I get most of my ideas from you, excellent videos. Keep it up.

i agree with you, i think this a perfect little system for car shows and small parties where you can't afford to pay for help to carry to bigger speakers. i think you could use those rcf 408 for satellite speakers on larger events or ceremony sound, what's your thoughts on that?

I see you got your hands one. if you have time it would really be cool if you could test with rcf 12. let me know how it sounds.

Very nice, Sounds good from what I can tell even with the video and computer speakers (although I do have Altec Lansing with a sub on my pc). Best of Success with it!

Brian, just curious, have you ever heard the cerwin vega Cva-121? I know It's a heavy beast but from what I've read it hits really hard.

Brian,

I presently use a Mackie SRM1801 sub. I hate lugging that thing around. I was hoping that two of these EV subs would give me at least the same amount of bass as the mackie. What do you think?

I actually own a pair of RCF SUB 705A's that produce beautiful bass, but they comew in at 75 lbs each. This one in the video is just for my micro system

For size, weight, portability, etc... I'm leaning to ZLX 12" tops, and these, one for now, likely 2 eventually.   Would this sub pair with 12" tops nicely, or should I really look into 15" subs?  Thanks so much for all the videos!

Same as Jun Regala will you recommend zxa1 subs with 312a RCF? I'm testing it right now n the subs are light up the whole time, what power sub do you recommend?

hi brian, could this sub EV ZXA1 (1 piece) work with my 2 RCF 312A speakers?

Oh yeah thoes 408A'S will handle loads of top end. Pair them with larger subs and you could do pretty big parties
