If I remember correctly, when playing Days Gone, the first Rager bear I fought in free roam(after the one you fight when going over the mountains) I totally ran out of ammo halfway through the fight, and had to fight it with my upgraded melee weapon. The fight lasted like three minutes and I was terrified the whole time.

Considering the history behind the myth of zombies and the fact that those circus bears were basically animal slaves for human entertainment, the idea with the chain and collar was actually really fitting too.

Dragon Age: Origins has Bereskarns, which are bears mutated by the Blight. If I remember correctly, maxing out your shapeshifter tree also upgrades your normal bear form into this.
