So don't take this the wrong way Jordan, I know I am talking to the owner of Artisan Angled Drilling Company, however you added the silicone way to early in your sealing needs. You got it all nice and sealed up and then shoved the cable down another 20" which took all the silicone down the hole with it. It really needs to be sealed with the wires are far in the wall as possible. Also for simplification you could use fork terminals and not ring terminals, that way you don't have to undo the screws, as Murphy says you will drop and loose them. With fork terminals you won't drop your screws! 👍👍

At my old work a chap explained the importance of PPE and how important it it is to wear the safety glasses correct. In the process of putting on the glasses, he poked him self in the with the eye with the glasses arm.

Tut tut. Youtube police here. Remember "prove, test, prove" with your voltage indicator (because everybody knows that your tester always fails just after proving it's working). ;-)
It's a shame they don't make a transformer that is made specifically to fit in a back box.
I always leave my screw heads vertical so I can tell if anybody has been messing around after I have done the fit. Horizontal is OK too, as long as they're all the same through the property (OCD!).
Good to see your channel expanding. Shame that Cory spoils it by being so straight laced. ;-)

@15:44 I don't disagree with the sentiment but adding a fused spur to an existing circuit is not notifiable work under Part P so is possible to DIY that part without breaking any rules... however... having a competent person do the work might be preferable... for the obvious reasons.

When you added the silicon to the wire going through the house, why then did you then ask Cory to pull the cable through into the house ? What you did by doing this was pull the silicon through as well, rendering the effectiveness of the silicon completely useless. Personally I thought common sense would have told you to add the silicon once the cable had been pulled through ensuring that the hole was completely water tight. I agree with adding a little silicon near the end of the cable before finally pulling it all through so the inner hole was protected as well and then add the final smudge of silicon to complete the seal on the outside once the cable was through.

A wood chisel on masonry! Like finger nails down a chalk board to this chippie.

As painful as it may be, get the nest doorbell fitted with a chime. When your google hub loses internet connectivity e.g. isp suffers an outage, you will not have a chime or receive any alert notifications when someone presses your doorbell. 🤕

This isn't new we've seen it already about 3 month's ago. For some reason Corey has been edited out

Why not place that transformer box just slightly higher than the button? In that case you have to drill upwards and rain and moisture is never going to be an issue.

I'm sure you've shown this one before?

Why this re-upload? And what about the heat from the transformer, you put it inside a small box, where it can't get rid of the heat?

Very informative video, a neat idea for the concealment of the transformer but a little concerned about the lack of air cooling that might be required possibly resulting in an overheating issue, just a thought. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

I’m pretty sure adding a fused spur off an existing electrical circuit has always been allowable for any competent personal, as long as it’s not in a “special location”?

I like the cat5E computer cable with these jobs you don't need crimps with the single strands

Great video but terence beat me to pointing out the mastic pull the cable through and just before closing up add the mastic and pull the last few inches through slowly, that'll seal the hole and keep it where its needed...
Well done on the install.

The minimum voltage for UK Nest Hello doorbells is lower than that for the US version. I was able to rewire my existing transformer to power it and also connect two existing chimes.

In fact Jordan you were way off the mark here. Adding a point to an existing circuit is not notifiable in England unless it's in a special location. If you do it you should provide a minor works certificate to cover your bum... But DIY is still allowed. The niceic like to tell us it isn't but it is.

And 1 o'clock position for plate screws

Surely it was pointless putting silicone around the cable and then pulling the excess cable through, and pull all the silicone down the cavity of the Wall

Have you ever installed a wired blink doorbell, I’m having problems and going by a load of others on a Facebook blink forum they can’t seem to get it either
I’ve got the blink doorbell chime wires going off to a bg bell 24v transformer, then a twin core with a plug to a standard switched socket. The transformer is in a housing by the door all connections are secure
