I just had an idea for a new segment in your reviews. Maybe you could make a segment where you focus mainly on effective ways to beat the vehicles you cover? It would benefit both people who have the vehicle you cover and those who don't, since the first group would learn what situations to avoid and others would learn how to effectively deal with those vehicles. Of course I'm not talking about missile warfare since that can be rather hit or miss but I was thinking about dogfighting. I know you mention that stuff throughout the video itself but I think a more concise segment would be a wonderful addition

My favorite plane since childhood when I read a book by my father called Top Gun. Came back to War Thunder 45 days ago after 6 years out and discovered they added the Su-27. So I brought a MiG-23ML during the summer sale and spend 4 weeks grinding this beauty. He cannot BVR properly, but I love to play with him and have 10 missiles. So, I prefer to fly low and "flank" the enemies.

Another great review - thank you Tim! The community seem quite down on the SM, but like you say I find it quite lethal when close in with a low fuel weight. The R27ETs are also still good for the occasional sneaky long range IR shot.

Youre absolutely correct about the radar, Im very disappointed in that and its a far cry from the MIg29 radars. Im not a bad pilot, but Im not at your skill level, I am just getting smoked by aim120s in this plane. If the radar was better, honestly, I wouldnt be having problems in it.

I feel like the radar is bugged. Cause 95% of the time it doesn't lock onto the target. Idk if anyone else has this issue

the flanker also has moments where when you lock on to a enemy jet the missle dosnt want to launch you get the little green circle that indicates you can fire it (but isnt locked) and then it will turn it off again

Oh btw tim, id suggested leaving the minimum fuel for jets the same, if they allows players to go lower, the aircraft would have to be nerfed again, they already over perform with only the minimum fuel load, any lower and some will actually brake physics, the gripen with only 2 minutes of fuel, literally cant stall and get stuck, its like it ifnores agravity, ive ttied flying it in other ways, but nope, still no issue.

The Su-27SM and J-11A would be “fine” if they had radars even comparable to the NATO aircraft. Personally I go 1 ER and rest R77s when I play and launch an ER from 50km away at high flying targets at the start of the game and about half the time get a free kill, remember the ER will reach the target faster than their 120.

The radar really limits this plane other than that I find it really fun
