Excuse the pronunciation as you can tell I'm not Japanese.

I've always been partial to the story of the Samurai Yoshitsune. The young boy who was trained by the head Tengu Sojobou in the art of swordsmanship, magic, and strategy. It shows a more benevolent side to the Tengu you don't often see.

I encountered a Japanese Tengu while I was hiking near the base of Mt. Fuji. I was in shock of what I was seeing, the Tengu was slightly glowing, & it appeared to give me a slight nod as it retreated into the forest.

It would have been cool if in Nioh 2, there was a Tengu boss based off the long nosed red tengu which are the more famous type of their kind, one who just laughs and offers you a reword for proving your might to him after winning. Honestly love Japanese mythology and how crazy and wacky it can be with creative creatures spirits and demons. Will always remember that one kite tengu from Sekiro...that one straight up made me laugh. 👺

When the tengu summons gold i just imagine the man, pretending for a while, letting the gold rain down while yelling "oh noooo"

Fascinating to see how they characters have changed in look and deeds. I’m currently playing a Tengu Samurai in a Pathfinder rpg campaign.

Sojobo, regarded as a wise and powerful Tengu. Often considered the king of Tengu, he appears in the legend where he trains Ushiwakamaru.
