Southwest just killed what made them Southwest

And just like that everything that made Southwest worth flying has disappeared.

Open seating worked when we were a higher trust, more polite society. But we are now a lower trust, less amicable society...more hostile. It makes it hard for that to work.

i will never understand paying/charging extra for a fckin seat unless it’s literally first/business class

Southwest should keep the polices in place. Passengers can pay extra for early boarding.

That was the only reason why I chose south west. How about load everyone starting from the back of the plane. Be different and the fastest company that loads their passengers.

The open seating was the biggest perk of flying SW Airlines 🙄

Open seating is what set Southwest apart from everyone else. I like open seating.

Why? This is what made Southwest unique. Now they're like everyone else except Southwest has 0 anemities, unlike other airlines. So why fly with them?

I’ve been a frequent flyer on Southwest for years. I’ve always loved the open seating policy.

If you are used to the Southwest way then the system works. When I was a frequent flyer it was the best. Now they are no different than all the other airlines

For the last 5 years upgrading hasn't been worth it. Even if you go to A group, nearly 1/2 the plane is boarded before you. I've seen families or 8 board because one person has a kid... it's borderline insane.

Well that sucks. The only reason I flew Southwest for all of my business trips was because I could choose my seat seat first, instead of a bot buying a seat and reselling it at a premium on a different airline.

I only fly southwest because of open seating

If you want a window seat, you have to sign an NDA promising not to film when the plane drops below 500 ft.
