Mathematical Myths and Misconceptions
March 3, 2013
Mathematics is frightening for many people, a fear fostered by misconceptions often inherited from elementary school. By exploring mathematics and history, concepts such as Pi, the Mobius Strip, the history and development of the square root of two, as well as Platonic Solids, this talk aims to dispel these myths and reveal how mathematics involves passion and excitement, teaches us how to disobey, and makes order out of chaos.
