Elite Dangerous - Frameshift & Starports OST

Elite Dangerous 1984 - 2024
ELITE: DANGEROUS - ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
FRAMESHIFT
Frameshift music takes it’s influence from the minimalist movement of the 60s and 70s, which I employed for the particular effect of that style.
I found that the repeating patterns and extended harmonies create a sense of timelessness and repetitive motion which suit the context well.
EXPLORATION & STARPORTS
In order to distinguish between the four ‘factions’ musically, I employed a set of textures and motifs for each, which re-occur when ever reference to these is made. I employed subtle cultural references to make the factions understood from our own global, cultural-historic perspective.
Faction specific music not only occurs in the star-ports and when arriving in new places but also when exploring. The style here is more ambient, especially for the exploration tracks which function like distant calls weaving in and out through the vastness of space.
Music Composed and Produced By Erasmus Talbot
Arrangement & Composition Support – Andreas Kinger
Executive Music Producer – Jim Croft
