I don’t think these pundits grasp at all that Ben White views football as purely a job. He’s openly stated he doesn’t watch any football matches and it’s a job to him. I think too many pundits and fans get so caught up in “legacy talk” that they overlook the fact that certain players like White are very good but they don’t love the game. It’s a job to them just like a huge percentage of the workforce is made up of people who don’t love their jobs but use it as a means to live whatever they consider their best possible life. White appears to be very at peace with his decision.

Why would Ben White regret his decision? He'll have a nice holiday and then come back refreshed for pre season training for the 24/25 season. I encourage other players to extend their playing careers and make the same decision for their long term health and to minimise injuries.
