Playing since 2011 but never was serious about playing competitively. I still learned a bunch from this video.
1: I swore shock cooldown was 25 seconds for the longest time for whatever reason. Thanks for correcting me.
2: I'll consider playing on Wii U via wired connection now.
3 and 4: I was already doing these things, but reminders never hurt.
5: Best tip in the video.

I immediately got first in a world wide first try at 5k vr because I haven't played World wides before. I knew this stuff already, and I use my competitive knowledge with my world wides. I'm at high 6k so I hope to get to 7k which will be fun getting to 8k after. I knew luigi circuit was a luck track so i just chained shock and gotten an easy first place. This is actually good for new mkwii players that haven't played the game much before.

I’ve spent 7 years trying to complete the 150cc special cup. Haven’t done it, and am still trying to this day

How to get first place in every race (Grand Prix non-internet). First, race in the 150cc cups so you get used to having the computer beat the snot out of you especially right before the finish line. By then you'll have mastered or at least gotten very good at each track. Next, race the 50cc races and it'll be easy as the computer isn't as aggressive. You're welcome. I never understood why it mattered about the shocks, you can't defend against them anyway. I wouldn't sit in front of a box waiting for the right time to get one yourself, so frankly it doesn't matter. You could get zapped just once in each race, or 4 times, just depends. But again, I'm talking solo play and not internet. But sure is frustrating trying to get a 3 star ranking though.

Slight correction the graphics quality of the Wii u in wii mode is still a maximum of 480p, I would agree to get a Wii u if your connection is dropping out.
Unfortunately the only way to get better than 480p Wii games is using dolphin

My biggest issues with this game is running into walls, falling off the edge, and running into dropped items.
