I have a Macrobrand watch. It has an Inhouse movement, and is assembled, adjusted and tested Inhouse.
It's my wonderful Sea-gull Ocean Star diver.
Now watch the Chinese haters.

Good comparison. These days there are a lot of good microbrands on the market. In this price range my favorite is the SWC Diver. 44mm, SW 200 movement, ceramic bezel, oil pressed back, sapphire crystal, 5x anti-reflective coating, 20 layers of super luminova, 30 ATM. $475, just a few specifications.

I would go with the Collins. Nice-looking with a movement that I like. I saw the comments on the SWC. I also like this watch. I bought one about 6 months ago, no complaints whatsoever.

I have the sbdc061 as my first diver and really really like it, it looks so nice on the wrist specially under sunlight it has a beautiful shine to it, you just can't go wrong with mm200.
Mine also has problem with chapter ring alignment
Also very very nice observation of clasp sounds

Good comparison and review. Of these, I would go with the Collins. I think you should have a look see at the all Swiss Outsider Revolution. I have owned mine for about a year and still love it.

Patek also uses pin and collars. It's more flexible. 120 bezel is a superior construction than 60 clicks. You can have ceramic in seiko's lower end divers.

If I didn’t already own a gilt Black Bay I’d pick the NTH. But I think I’d take the Collins and put it on a NATO. Cool exercise. Thanks, Chris.

This should help my subscriber Private. Hope he comes over and watches. Great video.

Should have had a Zelos or Glycine Combat Sub in this mix. I think Zelos makes a killer watch in this category (either Mako or Hammerhead). I won't spend that much money on a Seiko because I can get so much more from a good microbrand or even an entry tier Swiss diver like the Glycine for less.

Is the lume on the NTH blue or green? It's hard to tell on the video. And some pictures on their website show it as green, while other pics show it as blue. Thanks.

The NTH Wins(easily)in my opinion. The clasp kills it for me on the second watch. I guess my watch tastes have changed because I really gravitate towards ‘thinner is better’...The NH35/36/38 drives the thickness of watches upward. I have not added to my Seiko Collection in over a year because I have enough ‘chunky’ dive watches with their movements in them.

Do you realize that you had far more critical things to say about the Seiko than ALL the others combined? I have it, like it, but find myself doing the same thing.

Nice comparison. I have the Seiko and the Ventura.
Gnoman has the Seiko for $820, they are an AD.
Too bad about Seiko’s QC. On my SBDC061, everything is fine. I like it so much I recently got the SPB105, which is basically the same watch with a Green Dial and gilded hands. It has a misaligned chapter ring. Contacted Seiko, there US service center is closed do to Present health crisis.

A pressed clasp doesnt bother me at all. The watches I've had with that have been comfortable and t&ats all that matters. I just want enough micro adjustments. I have an NTH which I love.

That NTH has black bay 58 written all over it. I might have to pick one up.

The bezel sound is appreciated but illustrates that this is a very subjective thing. I prefer the sound on my sumo which is very similar to the sound on your seiko.

Great video, I think my Certina beats all of them

A 'microbrand' is just some guy selling cheap Chinese watches from his garage. Even a SW200 powered 'Swiss Made' dive watch only costs about $175 direct from the manufacturer.

I don't like seiko so l will always pick the micro brand as long as it doesn't have an nh35....

Seiko is just plain rip-off amongst these microbrands.
Seiko is more expensive
Seiko is having the worst bezel action
Seiko bracelet is bad in general
Seiko has the infamous misalignment issues
Seiko has the chunky big ass case and discontinued those smaller case variety
Seiko has the worst bezel lume in its price point
What are you doing, Seiko? Stop with those super overpriced editions and work on your QC!
