Shampoo (less than once a week), deep condition, put in a few twists (no extensions) and wear a head wrap for a few months.

I’m not letting ANYBODY in my head ever again! People will see you with a lot of hair, they themselves will be bald headed and will want you bald headed wit em. I decided I wanted some box braids. This girl was yanking and pulling on my hair, brushing it any kind of way. I had a head full of healthy hair before she touched it. Girrrllll when I took them braids out weeks later, my hair was coming out in CHUNKS. I had to chop all my hair off! It’s just now starting to grow back thick and healthy. The start to a healthy hair journey is keeping people out of your hair!

This cut it kinky/curly cut trend is ruining heads. Afrikan Hair God has covered this extensively!

Sorry for your traumatic experience. They cut for an aesthetic and shape and not for hair health as well as slathering on products whilst dehydrating the hair😩 I will never understand stylists who trim type 4 hair in a wet/curly state when you can't see the true health of the ends. Some can't even identify split ends when they see them and will just chop more than necessary.

You can go on a mini braid challenge sis. Mini braids are so good. You can do treatments while your hair is in braids

The year I had my big chop. This 65 year old often took your advice in hair matters and I have an amazing head of hair. Keep on shining!

I think you might need to add more silicones to your hair. I’ve always had trouble with retaining length. When I finally went back to sulfate shampoos and silicone conditioners in addition to using a leave in conditioner religiously, my hair has finally grown past my bra straps without my ends looking frail and breaking off.

I stopped using relaxers in 2007 and started locs. I cut the locs in jan 2023 and started afresh with loose hair. I don't let anyone else touch my hair. My hair is flourishing. Ladies learn do your own hair and you won't regret it

I see growth. I think everyone goes through periods of thinning, breakage, whatever. I had to stop checking. Mine will look healthy and grow, but then start breaking. Natural hair at its finest❤

👑 You dont happen to have hard water, do you? Hard water put my fine hair through the wringer, but a shower filter and a chelating shampoo saved me. I had to grow off the damage but my hair is in a much better place now. Wishing you the best of luck in your journey ❤

👑 I definitely think that finding the products that work for you and sticking with them will make a huge difference, especially since you’re not making a lot of hair content. Also, I noticed the health of my hair completely change when I started blowing out my hair on every wash day and from there you can do roller sets, rod sets, braid outs etc 💜
